Your client is not on Peppol: what now?
Not every client can be reached via Peppol. What you do depends on who your client is.
Your client is a private person
Nothing changes. Invoices to private persons are not covered by the Peppol obligation. You can keep sending them as a PDF by email or on paper. In Faktuno, the same Send button then emails the invoice as a PDF automatically.
Your client is abroad
The Belgian obligation covers invoices between Belgian businesses. For a client abroad you can email the invoice as a PDF, unless that client can be reached via Peppol.
Your client is a Belgian business
Since 1 January 2026, every Belgian VAT-registered business must be able to receive invoices via Peppol. Still can’t find your client?
- Check the enterprise number. A typo is the most common cause.
- Ask your client to register. They can do this through their accounting software or a Peppol service. Once registered, Faktuno finds them automatically.
- Meanwhile, email a PDF so your client knows what to pay, and ask your accountant how to handle that invoice.
How do you see this in Faktuno?
Each client has a label: Peppol when the client can be reached via Peppol, Email when the invoice goes by email. So you know in advance how your invoice will arrive.
